The Barrington Watson Retrospective is one of the first events that will mark the beginning of Jamaica's 50th Anniversary of its Independence celebrations. On show from January 8th - 14th April at the National Gallery of Jamaica, it kicks off a series of activities and programmes that will run throughout the year. Contemporary Caribbean magazine ARC, is offering internships during 2012 for graduates interested in Visual art, Art History, Media & Cultural Studies and Journalism. Interns will gain invaluable experience working on this emerging cultural publication; writing and researching artists, and working on the magazines database and website.
The inaugural issue of Caribbean InTransit was launched at the National Gallery of Jamaica recently. The first edition entitled The Politics of the Visual and the Vocal was accompanied by a one day symposium exploring issues related to publiching in the region. Read more
